I’m Maxim Werner. I build websites that work for businesses.

M-Webentwicklung is my company. I work from Schwäbisch Gmünd in southern Germany, and from the first message to launch you deal with me.

Thinking technology and business together.

My background is business informatics: the point where technology and business meet.

That shapes how I build websites. To me a website is neither a work of art nor a piece of software. It is a tool of your business: it should explain what you can do, build trust and bring in enquiries. Design and code are the means to that end.

That is why I do both myself. Strategy, design, development, findability: there is no hand-over between departments where the idea gets lost, and nobody selling you something that someone else then has to build.

What I hold myself to.

Five principles you will find in every one of my projects.

  • Understand first, then design

    Before I design anything, I read your existing website in full and ask about whatever does not add up. Many of a website’s problems are about content, not technology.

  • Claim nothing that isn’t true

    The websites I build contain no invented figures, seals or testimonials. That applies to this one too.

  • Original images instead of stock photos

    When good photos are missing, the central images are created in code: as a drawing, an animation or a 3D scene that fits the business.

  • Tested before it goes live

    Every website is tested in several browsers and on phones, operated by keyboard and measured for loading time.

  • As few third-party services as possible

    Fonts and images sit on your own server. That is faster, and it spares you consent banners nobody wants to read.
