Hosting and server logs
This website consists of static files and is hosted with Hostinger. Hostinger acts as my processor for the personal data that arises in hosting. The data processing agreement is part of the provider’s contractual terms and covers hosting, email and domain services.
With every request the server processes technically necessary data and records it in log files: IP address, date and time, the address requested, status code and amount of data transferred, the referring page, and information about browser and operating system. This is necessary to deliver the website, detect faults and fend off attacks. The legal basis is my legitimate interest in secure and stable operation (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
I do not combine these logs with other data and do not use them to observe individual visitors. How long the provider retains them is determined by the provider. Where Hostinger processes data outside the European Economic Area, this is done on the basis of the EU standard contractual clauses, which are part of the data processing agreement.
Enquiry form
You can use the form to enquire about a project or request a website review. The following details are processed:
- Required: your name and email address; for a project enquiry your project description, for a website review the address of your website
- Optional: type of project, company, telephone number, existing website, main goal, timeframe, budget range and your message
- The language of the page you are writing from (German or English), so that I can reply in it
The web server sends these details by email to my mailbox info@mwebentwicklung.de and does not store them on the web server. Delivery runs through Hostinger’s email infrastructure, which also hosts the mailbox (Hostinger Email). I use them solely to answer your enquiry and, where applicable, to prepare a quote. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (steps prior to a contract, taken at your request), and for general questions Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (interest in replying).
Providing the details is voluntary. Without a name and email address, however, I cannot reply to you. Files cannot be uploaded through the form.
Protection against abuse: to limit automated submissions (no more than five per hour), the server keeps a non-reversible hash of your IP address together with the times of your submissions. The IP address itself is not stored. Entries older than one hour no longer count and are deleted at the next submission. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
Retention: I delete enquiries as soon as they have been dealt with. If a contract results, I keep the related correspondence for as long as statutory retention obligations require.
Contact by email or telephone
If you write to me or call me, I process your details in order to deal with your request (Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR). Emails are held in my mailbox at Hostinger (Hostinger Email);Hostinger stores them on my behalf. The same retention rules apply as for the enquiry form.
Analytics
There is no audience measurement: the website loads no analytics script and does not count visitors. No profiles are created and no data is passed on for advertising purposes.
Fonts, scripts and 3D visuals
Fonts, images and scripts are loaded entirely from this website’s own server. No font services, maps, videos, advertising networks or social media elements are embedded, so no other provider receives your data when you open this website.
The 3D visuals are computed in your browser. No data is transferred in the process.
Links to other websites
References to other websites are ordinary links. Only when you click such a link does the operator of the destination receive data from you; that operator’s privacy policy then applies.
Your rights
- Access to the personal data processed about you (Art. 15 GDPR)
- Rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR)
- Erasure (Art. 17 GDPR) and restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
- Data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
- Objection to processing based on legitimate interests, on grounds relating to your particular situation (Art. 21 GDPR)
- Complaint to a supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR); in Baden-Württemberg this is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (Landesbeauftragter für den Datenschutz und die Informationsfreiheit)
A message to the email address given above is sufficient. No automated decision-making takes place.
